Cake Stand of the Month 'June'

Continuing with our featured 'cake stand of the month' series we have 'June'.

The Caverswell china June plate is decorated with delightful illustrations and sweet quotations from the book "A Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" by Edith Holden.

"The pleached bower
Where honeysuckles, ripened by the sun,
Forbid the sun to enter."
'Much Ado' Shakespeare

Beautiful native British flowers. Buttercups, honeysuckle flowers, wild pink roses and foxgloves with butterflies fluttering around the borders of the plate. We've chosen a complementary Royal Albert 'English Rose' pattern plate for the middle tier and for the top a vintage Aynsley tea plate in pastel green with a pretty floral motif in the centre. The calming soft colours of summer.

On a day like today when the rain pelted down hard and we were soaked to the skin we can at least look forward to June in hope of warmth and sun. This cake stand really makes me smile. Those summer days will come!

In case you missed it last month here is our 'May' mixed china cake stand.
How quickly the seasons change and time flies by! I'm planning ahead for 'July'!
